We arise with mixed felling. We are excited about a
day to see some things we haven’t seen yet, to revisit a couple of places, but
this is also our last full day in London and we have enjoyed ourselves so much,
we don’t really want to leave.
After breakfast and some straightening up of the flat,
we head to our last destination: The City (City Walk #13). It’s down to the
Notting Hill Gate Station one last time for a long ride on the Circle Line to
Tower Hill.
We wander north and east heading to the area
containing the newer tall buildings. We see 30
St. May Axe otherwise known as the Gherkin).

We pass by the Willis Building,
The Willis Building |
and the Lloyd’s (of London) Building. We wander around the Leadenhall Market and get almost
lost in the tiny alleyways, such as St. Michael’s Alley. Having finished this
walk, we double back to 20 Fenchurch, where we have reservations for lunch in
the Sky Garden Restaurant.

It takes a little while to get through security and up
the elevator, but the efforts are well worth it. The views are spectacular! We
enjoy a wonderful lunch, eating in casually elegant surroundings. We order from
the Prix Fixe menu, Amy has Beetroot Salad and Hake while I have the Poached
Burford Brown Egg and Confit of Duck Leg. Delicious! After lunch, we walk all
around the Sky Garden to take in the views.

The Sky Garden begins on the 35th floor. Our lunch was on the 37th floor. Sky Garden covers the 3 top floors of this tower. We also spend a short amount of time on the Outdoor
Terrace, 35 floors up from the ground.
Ready to face the next destination, we leave for the St.
Paul’s walk, doing it backwards as we head to the St Paul's Station. We end up
in Paternoster Square.

We get home and take a well-earned rest for a couple
of hours. For dinner, we walk to Franco
Manca on Westbourne, enjoying pizza. Delicious. Yet another great day in London.
