Today’s goal is the Regent’s Park City Walk (#33). We
take the Underground to the Regent’s Park Station and enter the park. The Frieze
Sculpture Art Fair occurs every October. This Fair uses the southeast corner of
the Park to display sculptures. The Fair opens in a few days. Most of the outdoor
sculptures are in place; they are very interesting. A few more of the pieces are being
staged. There is a lot of activity in a closed section of the park for the more
private viewings of other exhibits in the Art Fair. One of the sculptures that is ready to view makes me think of my Sister-in-Law Beth:

We enjoy the sculptures, then move on to visit Queen Anne’s Garden, a well-tended inner
circle of the Park. In this, we see the Rose Gardens:

In a secluded section of the Garden is the …

We leave the Queen Anne Gardens and return to the large loop around Regent's Park. We walk to and around …
The Boating Lake |
We stop at the Lakeside Café for a quick bite to tide
us over until lunch. Refreshed, we continue the rest of the walk, exiting the park onto
Baker Street. We walk past the Sherlock Holmes Museum and enter the Underground
to go to the Borough Market.
Here we are in search of some dinner fixings (pork
pie, salad vegetables). Many people are here picking up lunch, standing and
eating it. The food is tempting, but we do not have the energy to stand while we eat. We
find the lovely Black and Blue (classic
steaks and wine). Amy enjoys the chicken breast in a Brioche Bun while I have
the flatiron steak.
We head home for a low-key afternoon/evening, eating
in and resting up for the morrow.
